Cosmelan and Dermamelan are the world’s leading depigmentation method. It’s an intensive treatment with a dual action: it both corrects and regulates hyper-pigmentation.
A significant reduction in brown patches may be detected as soon as 3-4 weeks after starting treatment. Once peeling is completed, the skin will appear luminous and rejuvenate and continue to improve with the
use of home care products.
The treatment consists of two parts: an in clinic mask application followed by a home care maintenance regime.
Phase 1
Preparing your skin pre-procedure. The better your skin is prepared, the better the result and the lower the risk of inflammation and discomfort. The Mesoesthetic Brightening Booster is recommended to use 6 weeks prior to treatment, as well as a Melanostop peel, which will provide added benefits.
Phase 2
The in-clinic treatment takes about 30min and involves the application of the Cosmelan mask. Once the mask is applied, you will be taken through the protocol carefully and you will be able to go home. You will be instructed to remove the mask after a specified period of time.
Phase 3
The maintenance period over the next 12 months, is critical to the success of the Cosmelan treatment. You will be prescribed home care products and given careful instructions to follow to best maintain your result.

What downtime can be expected?
Cosmelan/Dermamelan is a very safe and efficient procedure. The patient may experience some redness, itchiness and flaking shortly after the first phase (7days). There will be a noticeable improvement once flaking has subsided, for further improvement, you will begin with your Cosmelan/Dermamelan maintenance cream. The skin will feel sensitive, tight and may flake further which may subside after roughly 2 weeks.
Can Cosmelan/Dermamelan be combined with other treatments?
No peels should be done 2 weeks prior to treatment.
Avoid laser on the treated area 2 days prior to starting treatment.
Injectables such as Botox and Filler should not be done 2 weeks prior.
